This course aims to introduce students to Visual effects history and production. Several weeks are spent thoroughly analyzing Maya’s tool chest for particle emission, which includes point, particle/particle, curve, and surface emitters. While discussing emission, we also look at how to control particle motion and behavior through the use of fields and collisions. In the same way the module starts by going through the fundamentals of 3D and 2D fluids, oceans, and ponds, as well as their properties and options. It then moves through the usage of each type of fluid and how to implement them as effects. In the same way the course covers cloth and hair simulation, Xgen and Bifrost.
